The study will characterize the watershed, summarize terrestrial habitat and species of concerns, discuss water quality and aquatic habitat activities, address historical watershed trends, evaluate potential stream and wetland impacts, determine applicable local and state problems relevant to land use and water quality, and describe sub-watershed areas. Watershed assets and problems will be determined. Key stressors to aquatic system integrity will be identified and targeted for future verification. Another focus of this project will be to identify potential mitigation alternatives that could assist EEP in meeting its mitigation goals.
It is expected that Phase II will involve detailed studies specific to the needs of the watershed. Detailed watershed modeling may be employed to quantify contamination sources and amounts. Stakeholder interaction is expected to be an important part of this process in an effort to address concerns. Phase III work will involve actual implementation of recommended strategies.
